Recess Fitting | Inside Window Recess
This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess.
Measure the width and height of the recess in three different positions, and provide us the smallest measurement.
We will make the appropriate deductions to ensure a perfect fit.
For Roller and Day & Night blinds, simply measure the top width of your recess and provide this measurement when you place your order.
If your recess has tiles part-way up (commonly found in kitchens and bathrooms), the space between the tiles is usually the narrowest part of the recess. Measure the width between the tiles to ensure the blind will fit.
However, for Roller and Day & Night blinds, measure both at the top of the recess and between the tiles, then compare these measurements. If the difference is less than 25mm, use the top measurement. If it’s more than 25mm, use the measurement between the tiles.
Exact Fitting | Outside Window Recess
This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit outside the window recess.
Measure the width and height of the recess, adding some extra on all sides to ensure proper coverage. To minimise light leakage, we recommend the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 7 cm at the top and 5 cm on each side.Helpful Tip for All Blinds: If you’re replacing an existing blind with one of the same size, just measure the blind (including its fittings) and select the exact fitting option. We’ll produce a new blind that matches those measurements exactly.
Note for Roller and Day & Night Blinds: Please note that this width includes the blind's mechanism, with the fabric being approximately 2.5 cm narrower than the overall width of the blind.
